Cold Press Machine Pressure-Matched Welded Steel Structure

Strong Welded Steel Structure

The frame structure and steel-plate thickness are selected around the specified pressing force. Reinforced vertical and horizontal welded members provide structural support during repeated hydraulic pressing.

Integrated Chrome-Plated Hydraulic Cylinders

The hydraulic cylinders use an integrated construction with thick-wall hollow plunger rods and hard chrome-plated working surfaces.

The hollow-plunger design supports the relatively long stroke required by a cold press, while the chrome-plated surface improves resistance to wear and corrosion during repeated operation.

“Not Sure Which Machine I Should Use?”

How to Choose a Cold Press Machine for Wood?

Choose a cold press by matching usable platen size, required pressure over the loaded area, stack height, adhesive press time, batch output and handling method.

1. Confirm the Largest Assembly

Provide the finished panel or door size, not only the raw sheet size. Allow for cauls, separator boards, alignment fixtures and safe loading clearance. Confirm whether the size is also the usable pressing area.

2. Determine the Required Pressure Over the Loaded Area

The same pressing force can result in different average pressures depending on the loaded area. Select the pressing force based on the adhesive, workpiece size, material, and so on.

3. Define the Stack and Required Opening

List the panel thickness, panels' quantity per batch, cauls and separators. The 1000 mm opening must not be treated as usable stack height until daylight, stroke and safe loading clearance have been confirmed.

4. Use the Adhesive Technical Data Sheet

Provide the adhesive name and technical data sheet. Important inputs include substrate compatibility, spread rate, open assembly time, total assembly time, application temperature, required pressure, minimum clamp time and full cure conditions.

5. Calculate the Complete Batch Cycle the Factory?

Production capacity includes glue spreading, lay-up, transfer, alignment, platen movement, pressure hold, unloading and downstream conditioning.

6. Confirm Handling and Factory Conditions

Check how the stack will enter and leave the press, the max. load weight, aisle space, floor capacity, electrical standard and maintenance access.

Cold Press Machine Cold Press or Hot Press

Cold Press or Hot Press

Cold presses and hot presses both apply pressure to wood-based materials, but they use different process conditions.

Hydraulic Cold Press

Hot Press

Platen Heat

No added platen heat

Heated platens

Press Time

Mainly governed by adhesive type, ambient temperature and curing conditions

Heat can accelerate the cycle when using a compatible adhesive

Application

Our hydraulic wood cold presses are designed for pressing and bonding applications across furniture, woodworking, panel and wood product manufacturing.
Cold Press Machine Furniture Panel Pressing

Furniture Panel Pressing

Our cold press machine was used for pressing and bonding furniture panels, laminated components and other flat wood assemblies. The hydraulic pressing system helps maintain consistent pressure during the required adhesive curing period.

Cold Press Machine Veneer Pressing

Veneer Pressing

It is suitable for pressing veneer onto compatible wood substrates when the adhesive system is designed for cold pressing. Consistent pressure helps maintain contact between the veneer and substrate during curing.

Cold Press Machine Laminated Wood Panels

Laminated Wood Panels

It is suitable for pressing compatible laminated wood products, decorative panels and multi-layer wood components.

FAQ About Cold Press Machine.

What is the difference between a cold press and a hot press?
A cold press applies pressure at ambient platen temperature, while a hot press adds controlled heat. The choice depends on the adhesive, material, required cycle, surface quality and production plan. A hot press is not automatically better; it is a different process.
Batch quantity depends on panel thickness, cauls, separators, total stack height, loaded area, adhesive process and safe loading method.
Price depends on model, force, platen, hydraulic system, controls, safety, handling accessories, electrical standard, testing, packing, shipping and service. Send the application and destination for a configured quotation.
